The options for cool birthday number candles are nonexistent. Especially when you are cheap like me and want to pick them up at the dollar store. So, when looking for a number candle for a Frozen party I could only find this beautiful multi-colored polka dot one.
Well, 10 minutes in the craft room and it was transformed into this beautiful sparkle piece that will make any little girl smile.
I used The Buckle Boutique's Dazzling Diamond Stick Sheet in Sky Blue to fill the body of the candle. Then used matching glitter to cover up the red outline.
I used tracing paper to trace the inside shape of the number. Then, on the back of the Dazzling Diamond Sticker Sheet, I flip over the traced number and rub my finger over the pencil lines to transfer the 5 to the sticker sheet. Since I'm cutting from the back, the number has to be in reverse. I use a craft knife to cut the stick sheet with ease.
Once the number is cut out, peel the back off and stick it to the candle.
I used tacky glue on the red outline. Sprinkle the glitter on and tap off the excess. Once the glue is dry, use a soft brush to knock off any extra glitter that stuck to the resin gemstones. (Nobody wants glitter on the cake.)
This project was simple and quick, just the way I like it!
